Large values mean unusually intense venue activity, not bullish or bearish direction. Compare the same dates with signed netflow to see whether that traffic ended in net deposits or withdrawals.
Gross flow can count the two sides of a cross-exchange transfer at different venues. It excludes identified same-venue internal reshuffles after per-transaction netting, but incomplete labels can still leave operational movement.
